BiodivConnect 2025–2026 – International Call for Biodiversity Research

The European Biodiversity Partnership Biodiversa+ has launched the BiodivConnect 2025–2026 call for international research projects under the theme “Restoration of ecosystem functioning, integrity and connectivity.” The call supports interdisciplinary research contributing to the restoration of biodiversity and ecosystems and covers three main areas:

  • setting restoration targets and measuring success,
  • transferability and scalability of restoration efforts,
  • long-term sustainability and resilience of restored ecosystems.

Projects must be implemented by international research consortia. The application procedure consists of two stages.

  • Call launch: 9 September 2025
  • Pre-proposal deadline: 7 November 2025
  • Full proposal deadline: 14 April 2026
  • Funding decisions: autumn 2026
  • Project duration: 36 months

For Polish research teams, the call is supported by the National Science Centre (NCN), which has allocated EUR 1 million to fund Polish participants. The call may be particularly relevant to researchers working on biodiversity, environmental sustainability, climate resilience and interactions between agricultural and natural ecosystems.
