The Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) has launched a new FIRST TEAM call, supporting early-career researchers who want to establish their own research teams and carry out innovative projects with strong application potential in Poland.
Key information:
- Funding: up to PLN 4 million per project
- Total call budget: PLN 52 million
- Application period: 20 January – 17 February 2026
- Applicants: researchers of any nationality who obtained their PhD 2–9 years before the application
- Applications: may be submitted in Polish or English
- Required cooperation: a Polish business partner and an international research partner
Funding can cover, among other costs, research team salaries and scientific equipment necessary for the project. FIRST TEAM aims to help researchers build scientific independence, strengthen cooperation with international research institutions and industry, and increase their competitiveness in future ERC calls. The programme is financed under the European Funds for a Modern Economy 2021–2027 (FENG).
