Overview
NCBiR is an executive agency of the Minister of Education and Science regulated by several executive acts and legal acts related to the implementation of programs financed from European funds. NCBiR is an operator of several types of EU programs dedicated to the development of Polish science.
Objectives
The main task of the National Center for Research and Development is the management and implementation of strategic research and development programs that directly translate into the development of innovation. The tasks of the NCBR include supporting commercialization and other forms of transfer of research results to the economy, management of applied research programs, and the implementation of projects in the area of national defense and security.
Target group
Development of scientific staff, by implementing international researcher mobility programs. Particular attention is paid to the participation of young scientists in research programs. It enables them to increase their qualifications in the area of entrepreneurship, intellectual property management and commercialization of research results.
How to apply
NCBR as an Intermediate Body is in charge of transferring funds under two key operational programs in the Financial Perspective for 2014-2020: Intelligent Development Program (PO IR), the Knowledge Education Development Program (PO KED).

Overview
The NCN finances basic research carried out in the form of research projects, including the financing of the purchase or production of research equipment necessary for the implementation of these projects, research projects carried out by young scientists, doctoral scholarships and internships after obtaining a doctoral degree and doctoral placements and internships after obtaining doctoral degree. The statutory tasks of the National Science Center include financing basic research.
Objectives
NCN project enables research, exchange and cooperation between students, academics throughout the scientific programs.

How to apply
NCN is an operator of the national grants supporting carriers of the research staff, research projects carried out by doctoral students at doctoral schools, research projects carried out as part of international cooperation as well as international that are dedicated to molecular biology, healthy and safe food, plant-based products – chemical compounds and energy.

Overview
Polish Agency for Developing Entrepreneurship (PARP) was created to support Polish companies. However, PARP is also an operator of the special programs dedicated to running food science start-ups. For this purpose, two start-up platforms have been set up Wschodni Akcelerator Biznesu (Puławy) and Unicorn Hub (Lublin) within Program 1.1.1 Easter Poland.
Objectives
The program consists in turning an idea into a profitable business model to the selected commercialization platform. Up to 1 million PLN is offered for the individual wanting to prepare a detailed incubation plan with eligible expenditures on assistance in creating the business foundations of the project, specialized services individually tailored to the idea, workshops and training in public speaking and presenting a project, mentoring, accounting, tax, and legal services, assistance in creating corporate identification elements, office space.

Scientists interested in turning research into business activities.

Overview
NAWA stands for NATIONAL AGENCY FOR ACADEMIC EXCHANGE. NAWA works for the internationalization of Polish science by supporting and stimulating international research cooperation and academic exchange. The agency aims to strengthen scientific excellence, internationalize Polish universities and scientific institutions by enabling the exchange of knowledge, experiences and discoveries that increase the quality of teaching.
Objectives
NAWA supports activities for the benefit of academic mobility as part of programs for scientists such as Profesura NAWA, Bekker Program, National component of the Mieczysław Bekker Program, Ulama Program, NAWA Intervention Grants, Program Iwanowska, CEEPUS, International cooperation and exchange, NAWA PRELUDE BIS.

Overview
Erasmus + is the European Union program in the field of education, training, youth, and sport. It supports pupils, students, teachers, lecturers, and volunteers in conducting international projects. The program’s European budget allocated for 2021-2027 is 26.2 billion EUR. Erasmus + is divided into several different education sectors: vocational, adult education, school education, and higher education. The higher education sector represents one of the most important areas of the Erasmus Plus program that supports mobilities leading to improvement in students, academics, administrative staff skills, and developing potential of the higher education institutions to collaborate.
Objectives
Erasmus Plus program enables exchanges and cooperation between students, academics, and administrative staff throughout the outgoing and incoming mobilities depending on the type of program.
Target group
All kinds of employees from the higher education sector committed to lecturing, research, and supporting activities.
How to apply
There are two types of Erasmus Plus Actions: Action 1 – “Educational mobility” referring to the individual outgoing and incoming mobilities for EU and adherent countries, and Action 2 – “Cooperation of the organization and institutions” devised to increase the potential of the higher educational entities. The mobilities are organized through the sending institutions. Participating organizations planning to submit a proposal for the Erasmus Plus program will need to refer to the Erasmus Plus Program Guide.

How to apply
The Foundation for Polish Science is an operator of several different scientific programs.
1) START
Stipends for young, talented researchers – employees or doctoral students at an institution of higher learning in Poland or other Polish institution whose chartered purposes include conducting scientific research – at the outset of their career, who have already achieved some success in their field.
2) INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH AGENDAS
This program gives top scientists, irrespective of their nationality, the opportunity to create a research unit (innovative center of excellence) in Poland, which will conduct world-class R&D activities focused on a specific and timely scientific challenge.
3) INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH AGENDAS, PLUS MODULE (IRAP PLUS)
This program gives top scientists, irrespective of their nationality, the opportunity to create a research unit (innovative center of excellence) in Poland, which will conduct world-class R&D activities focused on a specific and timely scientific challenge. The PLUS Module of the International Research Agendas program supports projects carried out as part of the Teaming competition held by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 program.
4) TEAM-NET
The TEAM-NET program grants research units resources for funding interdisciplinary research carried out by a network of cooperating research teams managed by outstanding scientists.
5) TEAM
Grants for research teams headed by leading scientists – frontier scientific projects.
6) TEAM-TECH
Grants for research teams headed by leading scientists carrying out R&D projects related to a new product or production process (technological or manufacturing) of significant importance for the economy.
7) TEAM-TECH Core Facility Plus
Grants for research teams headed by leading scientists carrying out R&D projects related to designing and developing research services with the use of advanced research equipment. Projects lasting up to 18 months will be financed under the program. The project budget is approximately PLN 3,500,000.
8) FIRST TEAM
Financing for first research teams headed by doctors at the early stage of their careers.
9) MASTER/MISTRZ
The goal of the program is to support distinguished scholars by awarding them grants designed either to intensify the research they are already conducting or to explore new fields of research.
10) HOMING
Financing for projects designed as postdoctoral fellowships, carried out by young doctors (postdocs) coming to Poland from abroad.
