The National Science Centre (NCN) has opened a call for proposal for the SONATINA 9 and SHENG 4. SONATINA 9 targets researchers within 3 years of obtaining their doctoral degree, while SHENG 4 is for Polish teams planning to collaborate with scientists from China. The total budget for both calls is PLN 86 million.
The SHENG call supports bilateral international collaboration. Polish teams can apply for funding to conduct basic research in cooperation with Chinese partners across all disciplines within the life sciences (NZ1-NZ9), selected disciplines in the humanities, social sciences, and arts (HS6_01-HS6_08, HS6_14-HS6_15, focusing on human and social life studies), as well as selected disciplines in the exact and technical sciences (ST4: chemistry, ST5: computer and information technologies, ST8: process and production engineering, and ST11: materials engineering).
Funding in the SHENG call can cover research activities, salaries for the research team, scholarships for students or doctoral candidates, the purchase or development of scientific research equipment, and other necessary costs related to implementing the Polish part of the research project. SHENG is organized through cooperation between the National Science Centre and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).
The SONATINA 9 call has a budget of PLN 40 million, while the SHENG 4 call provides PLN 46 million for Polish research teams.
