Recruitment for the 3rd edition of the “Rising Managers Academy” is now open

If you are conducting scientific research, want to grow, and become not only a great researcher but also a leader who effectively secures grants and builds your research team, apply for the Rising Managers Academy (RMA), created by scientists for scientists at the InLife Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research PAS in Olsztyn.

RMA consists of ten two-day thematic training blocks, during which scientists develop skills related to, among other things, preparing grant applications, managing teams, and effectively communicating results. Recruitment is now open and will run until January 23. The course is free of charge, but the number of places is limited to one training group. Admission is decided by the recruitment committee, which evaluates, among other things, the applicant’s scientific achievements, project experience, and work in an international scientific environment. The entire course runs from February to December 2025, with classes held in English over two-day training sessions on weekdays.

The RMA educational pathway was designed using the design thinking method and aims to train academic staff in soft skills development, such as team management, communication, leadership, project management, financial management, and grant application preparation. The work using project methods and tools is mainly practical, where participants tackle a project challenge from the research stage to the prototype phase. The theory serves only as an introduction to practical workshops, with content tailored to the logic of project work. RMA trainers are experienced practitioners professionally involved in the scientific world, such as Tomasz Cichocki, Piotr Wasyluk, and Patrycja Radek.

The outcomes of the first two editions of the course include joint publications and grant applications. Participants work in small groups, allowing them to get to know each other, and the tools and methods refined during the sessions encourage further development.

We encourage all interested persons to send a CV and motivation letter (or a note presenting their scientific profile) to the RMA coordinator (email: k.wilczek@pan.olsztyn.pl). Recruitment lasts until January 23. We remind you that participation in the training is free of charge, the number of places is limited, and the first sessions will start in February.
