The European Research Council (ERC) has opened a new call for proposals under the ERC Advanced Grant. The call is open until August 29, 2024, at 17:00 CET. The ERC Advanced Grant is aimed at scientists who are already recognized leaders in their research fields with documented scientific achievements. The maximum funding amount for a project is €2.5 million (up to €3.5 million under certain conditions) for projects lasting up to 5 years.
The ERC supports researchers from around the world by offering attractive, long-term funding to carry out ambitious research projects across all scientific disciplines, with the goal of making significant discoveries and achieving ground-breaking results. The sole criterion for project evaluation is scientific excellence.
Call documents, including the Guide for Applicants, are available on the website. Applications must be submitted electronically via the Funding & Tender Opportunities portal. ERC Advanced Grants 2024 will be funded on a lump-sum basis. Funds will be disbursed based on completed project activities, regardless of actual costs incurred or research success. This new funding model will not affect the existing ability to transfer the grant to another entity.
